Another Great Race.

The new Mactech/MGS prepared and run Clio Cup Car took part in the 3rd Round of the LMA Eurosaloons race championshiop this weekend at Oulton Park. In front of good crowd of supporters and special guests of AMG TV, not only did Andy Glossop put the Clio on the fastest time of the Clio Cup, but also 5th in class B of this highly competitive championship grid.

Andy takes up the story: "The rolling start was not our best- a faulty sensor was giving us a bad misfire and I dropped several places going into old hall.  Luckily it seemed to clear as we catapulted down cascades and I made back one place before heading down lakeside, where I climbed back up to what had been my starting position. The entry into shell hairpin was amazing- a VERY late braking manoeuvre saw me pass 5 or 6 cars around the outside. Unfortunately, several cars went off around Druids- where I too had a very big moment- I think there was some oil on the track- but after another lap, we all bunched up behind the pace car.

Another great start 2 laps later would see me with a very good lead in the Clio Cup class, and chasing 2007 champion, Simon Taylor in his Honda Civic. I was definitely quicker on the tight corners, but the power advantage of the Civic was obvious as Simon slowly pulled away. I had several other great tussles with various cars-especially heading into Hislops chicane- once or twice outbraking much more powerful cars- but the highlight had to be keeping the Ex- Prodrive Super touring Mondeo behind me for several laps, before the sheer power took over and he pulled away."

It was a great finish, as Andy not only took a convincing win in the Clio class- finishing a good 5 seconds ahead, but also taking 3rd in the Class B. Even better, Andy had decided to play his Joker- scoring double points for this round.

Unless a late entry can be gained for Brands hatch, the next outing will not be until July, for the double header round at Rockingham.
